Changing headlight bulb 2001 cavalier?

how do you get the actual headlight unit out so you can change the bulb? i thought there was supposed to be clips but i dont see them anywhere..Changing headlight bulb 2001 cavalier?most likely, you can grab the unit from the back and twist it out. instead of the entire unit coming out, just the bulb should come out and replace the bulb. keep in mind, if it is a halogen bulb, DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB ITSELF WITH YOUR FINGERS. the oils on your skin react with the coating on the bulb and cause it to burn out.Changing headlight bulb 2001 cavalier?Refer to the owners manual, it should be mentioned there. In case you do not have a manual, you can visit GM website and download it from thereChanging headlight bulb 2001 cavalier?no clips just remove the two bolts on top, thats all that holds the headlamp assembly inChanging headlight bulb 2001 cavalier? You don't need to get the headlight unit itself off the vehicle.

Open the hood, and look at the headlight setup inside the hood. There might be a plastic cover over it. Carefully remove that if there is one. Then you can open the lamp socket carefully by turning it so it disengages from the other portion of the plastic clip on the other half of the socket (thats the part that's mounted to the reflector ). Then you can pull the headlamp bulb out of that socket by pushing on it slightly and turning it .

Then go to a parts store and buy a bulb. They're probably around $6-10 dollars.

Then put the bulb in the socket, turn it to lock it in, and then replace the socket in the mounting.

That's all there is to it! No need to pull out the entire headlamp assembly! Use caution, though, the lamp socket can get hot very fast!

If you're still not sure how to do this, go to a Kragen auto parts or pep Boys. Sometimes they'll do it for you at no charge, since it is a very simple replacement.Changing headlight bulb 2001 cavalier?you have to loosen up the whole light assembly and maybe even take it out until you can get your hand in there and get the bulb out.
